So for now we have mainstream MS and Apple both dictating to us what we want, what we will have and how much it will cost. While I refuse to conform and have no handheld devices I rely on I am just using what works for me at my desk. Karl is astute in that Win 2010 is "A work in progress." Both MS and Apple have worked hard to keep opensource Linux and others down. Every edition was an experiment using us as the guinea pigs victims. Over the years Billy and Crew have written, stole and rebranded software. Win 2010 Side Note: I started using MS Software in 1983 with CPM 86. The program just works and I am keeping it. It ran while I was asleep and when I checked this morning I found over a decade of data and forgotten history.

So anyway I installed this recovery program last night just after it came out and hooked up and old WD 1 Terabyte 32 bit drive which had been formatted and thrown in the drawer with my old SCSI drives and ran the full force recovery on it. If you don't like it just uninstall and you are back to learning Win 2010. It actually gets you where you want to go faster than the 2010 user interface. Start 8 works and since there are new concepts and menu's in Win 2010 it dumps you to it's special menu's as needed. It basically takes you back to your older Win 7 Start Menu which I loved.
I do cheat a little in that I have installed the Start 8 Program downloaded free from IObit.

I have been installing the GOTD programs on OEM Edition of Win 2010 Pro without the problems I am reading here.
He is a great tool as they say and often times comes up with usefull suggestions as well as alternatives that may work better. I to follow Karl's many inciteful comments on the many offerings here at GOTD.
